Too Much Stress!

I’m guilty! I take on too much! My brain won’t stop, ideas turn into really long “to do” lists piled on top of daily responsibilities, and the days go by with not enough hours in them to get anything accomplished. Before long, stress takes its toll. Do you know what I’m talking about?

For me this stress that I create for myself lives in my neck and shoulders. It hides out amongst my muscles in hard-core knots and cords of tension. Besides the constant pain, there’s the vertigo that has been, in the past years, almost a daily companion. It’s really tough to work through the responsibilities of the day – to be the owner of multiple businesses and the mom of many kids – when the world is spinning and you can hardly stand the pain. Literally, life is a pain in my neck!

Over the past year or so, I’ve been working on ways to de-stress. This means eliminating some of the optional things in life that contribute to the stress load (one reason I closed the school!) as well as learning how to manage stress so it doesn’t affect me quite so much physically.

In the next few blog posts I’m going to share with you a few things I’ve learned that are proving to be most helpful in my endeavor to be less stressed, less overwhelmed, and more productive.

You might have noticed this is not my usual blog spot. Well, that’s part of the de-stressing process too! Over the course of the next month, I’m going to share that story with you. I can hardly wait!
